We have multiple clients including ourselves that have subsidiary companies that operate in a way that would make this option very useful. It will reduce duplicated efforts that exist if you enter each division or subcompany as separate companies within the portal. It also would ease the finance/billing teams needs where they would have to aggregate spend for some clients when you separate them out. It is much preferred to have 1 client with groups underneath it that can then report the entire company as a whole or at the group level. From a billing perspective having the counts broken out both ways can be beneficial as well. This gives options for the MSPs to operate how they best see fit.
